Adrienne English (writer, choreographer, performer)
began her dance training with members of the Royal Ballet. It was very
British. She eventually moved on to modern dance at the California Institute
of the Arts. It was very iconographic. There was also lots of nudity.
Since moving to the Twin Cities, Adrienne has apprenticed with Beth
Corning Dances and Company and performed for local choreographers Kristen
Kusanovich, Marylee Hardenberg and Amy Sackett. She is currently a member
of John Munger's Third Rabbit Dance Ensemble. Adrienne's choreography
has been see at the MDA's Studio 6A, The Bryant Lake Bowl, The Loring
Playhouse, The Walker Art Center and the Guthrie Theater. She and crony
Amy Sackett are the bumping, grinding creative force behind the No Pants
Dancers.
Joshua Scrimshaw (writer, performer) is one
half of the Scrimshaw Brothers and co-creator of the cult late night
variety show Look Ma No Pants! Chosen as Artists of the Year by City
Pages and dubbed "The Twin Cities' sharpest comedy team" by
the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Scrimshaw Brothers have written,
produced and performed dozens of comedy shows including productions
for the last eight Minnesota Fringe Festivals. In addition to his fraternal
collaborations, Joshua has also worked with Bedlam Theater, The National
Theater for Children and, most recently, The Theater Gallery. He is
a founding member of the improv troupe The Impossibles and an equally
founding member of the science fiction comedy group, Soylent Theater.
Although Joshua and Adrienne have worked together on many projects,
including Adrienne's 1998 dance concert, Cold and Bored: an Evening
of Shameless Escapism and a series of silent sketches for Look Ma No
Pants, Shut Your Joke Hole is their first full length English Scrimshaw
Production (their son doesn't count-he hasn't reached full length yet).
Dan Hetzel (performer) has provided the Twin
Cities with comedy for more than four years. He appeared with the Brave
New Workshop for three of those years in 12 shows, many of them with
the cuddley yet unquestionably man-size Tim Uren. For the past year
he was a member of Five Man Job, who were designated the premiere improviserz
for Satan himself. He is moved by nothing.
Since appearing on her driveway in the "I am
glad to meet you" song, Sara Stevenson (performer) has made
it from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to the Minnesota Fringe Festival
and is happy to be here for her third Minnesota Fringe. Since it is
her third Fringe, Sara decided she should do three shows. You can also
catch her in "Russian Kaleidoscope" with Tobak Dance Company
and "They're STILL Outa Step?Except Cousin Ernie" with the
Third Rabbit Dance Ensemble, both of which are right here at Heart of
the Beast Theater.
Tim Uren (performer, gag man) -- bon vivant,
adventurer, pioneer, philosopher. Certainly a man who does some stuff.
And Shut Your Joke is some stuff he's delighted to do again. An alumnus
of the Brave New Workshop, Tim performs regularly with the Scrimshaw
Brothers as part of Look Ma, No Pants. Want more Tim in your Fringe?
He's performing in Vic Volare's Torchlight Parade. Or go see 3 Months
to Live's production of Gwen Hairy Gwen Gloss-- they let him direct
it. Outside of Fringe, he can be found taking part in Improv a Go Go.
Check out Tim's stuff!
